Ann Arbor Teeth Whitening and Veneers

Fremont Teeth Whitening and Veneers Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dentistry procedure in Ann Arbor and throughout Michigan.

Numerous ads for whitening products in our local Ann Arbor  media contain terms such as ‘white brite’, ’22 carbamide peroxide’ and ‘peroxide teeth’. They look tempting, but how do you separate tooth bleaching fact from fiction?

First, and especially for our local Ann Arbor, Michigan patients, we recommend talking to Dr. Gary Sasaki at Gary Sasaki DDS, MS. Just because teeth whitening products are readily available, it doesn’t mean they are all safe or appropriate for every person. Getting a professional opinion is a good first step.

Don’t be fooled by smile whitening hype and risk damage, especially if you need tetracycline teeth whitening. If you have existing cosmetic dental work such as crowns, bonding, partial dentures or bridge work, it is especially important to talk to a dental professional about worry-free dentistry teeth whitening.

Teeth whitening kits are not the only way to quickly improve your smile. Many of your neighbors have benefited from porcelain veneers. There are several brands of veneers such as Lumineers by Cerinate, da Vinci and Mac. We can help you decide on which is best for you.

Veneers are sometimes called ‘instant orthodontics’ because they can correct tooth misalignment and gaps as well as provide instant teeth whitening.

Porcelain veneers can also fix chipped teeth and cover stains. The vast majority of Ann Arbor veneer recipients are extremely pleased with the results.

Tooth Sensitivity Treatment in Ann Arbor

Tooth Sensitivity Treatment in Ann Arbor Have you ever been eating an ice cream cone in Ann Arbor when you felt a sudden jolt of pain in one of your teeth? If the enamel is eroded, or the gums have receded, the dentin layer of the tooth is exposed. The substances that cause tooth pain travel to the pulp where the nerves of the tooth are located. Ouch!

Tooth sensitivity can be a signal that something is wrong. It may be caused by periodontal disease or bacteria build-up in a crack in a tooth.

Enamel erosion can be caused by a number of factors including acidic foods and drinks, teeth grinding, or cracked teeth. If your teeth are sensitive following a professional teeth whitening such as the ones we do here at Gary Sasaki DDS, MS, the sensitivity will probably be gone in a few weeks.

Surprisingly, one cause of gum recession for our Ann Arbor patients is brushing too hard. That’s right; it is possible to brush too hard!

If you experience constant or intermittent pain in your teeth or gums, call 734-482-7466 right away to make an appointment. Dr. Gary Sasaki takes tooth pain seriously.

At Gary Sasaki DDS, MS in Ann Arbor, we not only treat tooth sensitivity problems, we also perform entire smile makeovers for cosmetic dentistry patients in the Belleville and Saline areas. You’ll find us in the 48197 zip code area.

Ann Arbor Cosmetic Dental Artistry

Ann Arbor Cosmetic Dental Artistry Ann Arbor cosmetic dentistry is part science and part art.

I’m Dr. Gary Sasaki of Gary Sasaki DDS, MS and enjoy using my extensive dental training and specialized artistic skills to design treatment plans unique to each of my Ann Arbor cosmetic dental clients.

In order to achieve an attractive, yet natural looking result, I do much more than recommend specific procedures. I consider the shape, alignment, color and condition of the teeth. In order to create a balanced look, the facial shape and coloring is taken into account. The Ann Arbor dentistry client’s age, health condition and lifestyle all influence the plan.

At Gary Sasaki DDS, MS , there is no one size fits all treatment plan.

My artistic abilities have been perfected over several years of creating smile transformations for my cosmetic dentistry clients. I am constantly receiving the latest training in new techniques and materials.

Even fairly recent cosmetic dental procedures such as teeth whitening and porcelain veneers have advanced considerably. Dental implants are a truly remarkable solution for our Michigan dental clients who have lost one or more teeth.

I would love to design a personalized smile makeover for you. When the work has been completed and you are enjoying your new look, it will only be obvious to those who see you all the time. Others will assume you have always been blessed with a naturally beautiful and healthy smile.

Gummy Smile?

Gummy Smile? Many Ann Arbor cosmetic dentistry patients with a gummy smile undergo crown lengthening surgery to bring proper balance and symmetry to their smile. Gum tissue and, in some cases, bone is removed to expose more of the visible part of a tooth. It is a safe procedure that does not affect healthy tooth structure.

A ‘gummy smile’ is a term used to describe a smile with teeth that appear too short because an unusual amount of bone and soft tissue hide part of the crown. Our Ann Arbor cosmetic dental patients who have opted for crown lengthening love how their new perfect smile looks and feels. Some of our crown lengthening clients also choose teeth whitening for an extra-dazzling smile!

Crown lengthening is not used solely for cosmetic reasons. When a tooth is injured and breaks at the gum line or if a filling or crown comes off a tooth that contains decay, crown lengthening makes additional tooth structure accessible for further restorative work. It is also used to treat some types of periodontal disease .

At Gary Sasaki DDS, MS , we perform cosmetic and restorative crown lengthening for patients in the Ann Arbor area. The surgery can be performed by a general dentist , periodontist or oral surgeon.

If you are interested in crown lengthening or other cosmetic dental procedures and live in the Ann Arbor, area, schedule an exam with Dr. Gary Sasaki by calling 734-482-7466 . We are conveniently located at 1900 Packard Rd. in Ann Arbor. When you come in, we can show you before and after photos of Michigan cosmetic dentistry clients who are enjoying their new smile.

Gary Sasaki DDS, MS on Jaw Bone Deterioration

Ann Arbor Jaw Bone Deterioration To remain dense, your jaw bone requires the continual stimulation and pressure of chewing, biting and talking. Each of your teeth has a root structure attached to the surrounding bone material. As each tooth absorbs the forces of everyday mouth function, it stimulates the bone to which the root is attached.

When a tooth is extracted, the jaw bone that previously surrounded the root structure begins to recede. Though tooth extraction is often the only possible treatment for our Ann Arbor patients with tooth damage beyond repair, every effort should be made to preserve the root structure.

Fortunately, tooth implants provide a new root which keeps the surrounding bone healthy and strong. A dental implant consists of a titanium post which is placed in the jaw bone. It replaces the original root and eventually integrates into the surrounding bone. After the implant has been placed and the surrounding bone has healed and meshed with the implant, a post is inserted into the implant. The new artificial tooth, or crown, is then attached to the post. Implant restoration is a safe and effective treatment for tooth loss.

To learn more about dental implants, call Dr. Gary Sasaki at 734-482-7466. The friendly professionals at Gary Sasaki DDS, MS provide world-class dental treatment for patients in Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas.
