Porcelain veneers are a popular option for patients who suffer from cosmetic problems with their teeth. Thin shells of porcelain securely bonded to the teeth, porcelain veneers can resolve nearly all your cosmetic problems, including:
- Stubborn Stains
- Minor Crookedness
- Gaps Between Teeth
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of a strong porcelain composite material, created in a lab from a precise mold of your own teeth.
Using a specially formulated bonding agent, your dentist will then affix the veneers to the front of your teeth, covering gaps, chips, cracks, pits, and even minor crookedness, and leaving you with a bright, white, healthy new smile.
Porcelain veneer procedure
The procedure for getting your own custom crafted porcelain veneers can usually be done in only two office visits.
During your first visit, Dr. Sasaki will discuss with you what your goals and hopes are for your new smile. Together, you will discuss size, shape, and color options for your veneers, to ensure that your new smile looks just the way you like.
Once you’ve made your choices, Dr. Sasaki will prepare your teeth to accept the veneers, and will take a precise mold of the surface of your teeth. He will use this mold to ensure that your finished veneers adhere securely to the natural surface of your teeth.
After your visit, your new porcelain veneers will be crafted to exactly your specifications, in the color, shape, and size you’ve selected, and will be formed using the custom impression of your teeth.
When you come into the office for your second visit, Dr. Sasaki will show you your new porcelain veneers, so you can inspect them before they are applied.
Then, your teeth will be prepared and the veneers will be securely bonded to the surface of your teeth using advanced dental adhesives that permanently affix the veneers to your natural teeth, creating a clean, bright, beautiful surface that is indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
