At the Dental Spa, our patients’ comfort and care are our top priorities. Our incredible team is here to ensure your visit is the best it can possibly be.
Patient Care Coordinators
My entry into the field of dentistry was actually the result of a meeting at a basketball game where the wife of a Howell dentist introduced me to her spouse and announced that he should interview me! As a new mom I was just considering some part time options and that chance encounter was to begin a working relationship that spanned over 20 years.
Patient advocacy has been a passion and a challenge that has always lined up with my overall enjoyment of people. Building personal relationships, working through treatment concerns and creating financial plans has inspired my desire to grow in all of those skills as much as I can. Becoming a part of The Dental Spa has added more for in furthering my education and use of these tools than any career or office that I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. Other than loving the environment of our spa like office, our patients are top-notch, our training is continuous and Dr. Sasaki’s desire for his team to succeed in their goals is always so gratifying. This all just adds to a life that is fulfilled with family, friends, gardening and all things outdoors!
I have been working in dentistry for over 30 years, 27 of which have been with Dr. Gary Sasaki. I have worked as both a RDA (registered dental assistant) and a patient care coordinator. One of the things I enjoy most about dentistry is to see how changing a patient’s smile transforms their lives. I have a husband, daughter and two beagles (Chloe and Roxanne) that enrich my life every day. In my free time I enjoy reading, camping and crafting.
I’ve had the pleasure of being part of The Dental Spa team since 2001! I’m passionate about being a patient advocate. There’s nothing like the satisfied look on a patients face when they’ve navigated the sometimes confusing world of insurance/financing and the unknown of treatment to come out the other end with an even bigger better smile. To calm fears, answer questions and help make treatment possible, especially in a soothing environment is rewarding to me.
Another passion of mine is my family! I cannot spend enough time with my husband Todd, young son Kyle and our dogs Oscar and Mika. Whether traveling or playing around the house they make my heart smile!
Growing up in the Grand Rapids area, I graduated from high school with aspirations to be a dental hygienist…a dream I had since middle school. My aunt is a hygienist, and she inspired me to pursue dental hygiene at a young age. From high school, I went to Ferris State University and then graduated in 2006, where I also played soccer for a year before entering into the dental hygiene program. I moved to Ann Arbor in the fall of 2006 after I married my husband, Bryton, who is currently in his 3rd year in dental school at the University of Michigan.
As a newer member to the Dental Spa, I have truly loved and appreciated the tender care and extra amenities we offer to all of our patients! I particularly have a passion in doing our Britesmile procedure, in which patients radiate a whiter smile that exudes a fresh confidence as they leave our Dental Spa.
I have been a hygienist for 20 years. I have spent the majority of my career in the treatment of patients with periodontal disease. I am so excited to be part of The Dental Spa team! It is very gratifying for me as a hygienist to give care to my patients in a calm and caring atmosphere where their comfort and wellbeing is the main concern.
I am also the proud mother of two lovely boys who brighten my every day. I enjoy spending my weekends listening to live music and going to museums with friends and family.
I always knew that I wanted to work in the health care field. However, the dental office is the very last place I thought I would end up. I was terrified of the dentist as a child. I would get an upset stomach on my way to the dentist, dreading my visit because I always had cavities and it was always painful when I had them filled. After “surviving” numerous extractions, orthodontics (including head gear!) and fillings as a child and young adult, I thought it would be great to help others prevent problems.
I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1999 and have been passionate about patient education ever since. I am thankful every day to be part of The Dental Spa team where patients are treated as people, not just teeth. In my free time I enjoy playing volleyball & soccer, running, rollerblading and spending time with my family.
Dental Assistants and Massage Therapists
From my first visit to The Dental Spa I knew I wanted to be part of their team. If I wasn’t hired as their massage therapist I knew I would be their new patient. Being able to take my passion of massage and work in a setting that had never even crossed my mind, a dental office, has been a blessing. I love what I do, and enjoy being a part of a professional dental team that provides exceptional dental care. Massage helps the patient in making their visit to the dentist more comfortable. The Comfort Menu is available to all patients, especially those patients that are anxious. I am fortunate to have a rewarding opportunity by having a soothing impact on our patients by offering massage therapy.
I am currently attending University of Michigan’s dental hygiene program. I assisted with the Dental Spa all summer, and with my busy school schedule I’ll be able to help them now only on occasion.
I’ve been working in the dental field since 1995. I have enjoyed working with Dr. Gary Sasaki since 1997 and now his son Dr. Ryan Sasaki. Our office has strived and continues to be on the cutting edge of technology.
I love helping patients obtain their perfect smiles and a healthy mouth. I could not imagine a better place to work. I’ve been married for 14 years and we have a fun loving beagle named Harley.
I joined The Dental Spa in 2009, first as a massage therapist. I strive to do the best I can to help others be more comfortable here in our office. With 8 years of massage experience, I wanted to expand my passion for helping people by becoming a Dental Assistant. Dr. Sasaki and his team took me under their wings and not only taught me the fundamentals of assisting, but also taught me the importance of treating our patients like family, and making sure that your visit here can be the best visit possible. I couldn’t imagine working for a better dental practice, and am grateful for the opportunity to work with such caring people.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and baking. I continue to work as a massage therapist on the weekends. I have two wonderful dogs, Luna and Shiva, that I love to spoil and spend time with.
